Challenge

CRC 1182 is an interdisciplinary network investigating the interactions of specific microbial communities with multicellular host organisms. The aim of the around 80 researchers is to understand why and how microbial communities enter long-term connections with their host organisms and research the consequences of these interactions. A large amount of data is generated and needs to be interconnected and readily available.

Result

A content first approach combined with a structured and clean design aesthetic and good UX made sure every piece of information is readily available. Interconnected content leads to better exploration and no dead ends. The modular approach to the CMS allowed the website to grow and the team to focus on what’s most important – presenting results to the public and scientific community and securing multiple funding phases.
